Use case 1 · CISO / Head of IAM
Zero standing privilege is not a quarterly cleanup. It is how access should work every day.
Standing privilege goes to zero. The CISO stops owning a breach that was pre-authorized years ago.
Every large enterprise runs on access that was granted once and never re-decided. ConteXengine computes eligibility per request, so there is no standing role to find and no timer to maintain.
- Six live signals per request
- Humans, agents and machines
- No policy written

The problem
Granted once, never re-decided
Admin keys, roles and tokens issued years ago are still live tonight, with no expiry and no owner watching.
One JIT tool per population
Every just-in-time product covers one kind of identity and brings its own timer. Nobody can say which standing keys could reach the crown jewels.
Removal is nobody's job
Taking privilege away is slow and risky, so it never happens. One phished credential inherits the whole blast radius.
How it works
The request arrives
A person, an agent or a service account asks for privileged access. There is no standing role; there is a request, scoped and timed.
The ticket is validated
The change ticket is checked against the requester and the window before anything else runs.
Eligibility is computed
The graph and six live signals — user risk, MFA, last authentication, network, device compliance, separation of duties — decide the verdict.
Access exists only inside the window
Granted for the window the context justifies, scoped to the ticket, and gone when it closes. Every step on the ledger.
Why ConteXengine
Decided, not stored
Eligibility is computed at the moment access happens — not stored in a role that a directory, a PAM vault and a governance platform all agree is fine.
One engine, three populations
The same graph and the same signals decide a person, a payroll service account and a copilot. Not another JIT tool for one more population.
Replayable a year later
Every policy version is stamped on the decision. An auditor replays it and gets the same answer.
Common questions
What is zero standing privilege?
An operating model in which no identity holds privileged access permanently. Access is granted for a task, for a window, and removed automatically — and the decision to grant it is made from context at the moment of the request.
How is this different from a PAM vault with JIT?
A vault stores credentials and times out a checkout. ConteXengine decides whether the request should be granted at all, from the identity's live risk, device, network, ticket and separation-of-duties state — and does the same for agents and machine identities, which vaults do not cover.
Do we have to write policies?
No. Eligibility is computed from the graph and the signals. Your existing approval rules, tiers and windows are read as context, not re-authored.
What happens to the keys we already have?
They are discovered, scored and converted. A standing key becomes a just-in-time role in one governed run; the finding closes rather than ageing in a ticket.
What does the first week look like?
Read-only connectors in shadow mode. You see the standing privileges ranked by blast radius and the verdicts ConteXengine would have returned on your real requests, before anything is enforced.
Go deeper
Give every identity exactly the authority its risk earns. Take it back the instant that risk changes. Prove both.
Runs in your environment
Deployed inside your boundary, including isolated networks. Your data stays where it is.
No AI in the decision path
Models help us build and tune. Every live verdict is deterministic and replayable.
Built and run with you
A build partner connects your estate, then a 24×7 global command center runs it with you.
